Scott Psychological Centre provides psychological assessment and treatment for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Developmental Trauma and the problems associated with both of these difficulties.
We also offer help for a wide variety of other common emotional/psychological difficulties including Depression, Anxiety, Addictions of various kinds, and the multiple issues caused by executive function difficulties especially problems in emotional self-regulation (Aspergers Syndrome). Counselling is available for children with psychological difficulties and associated difficulties in Parenting.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), stress management, lifestyle management, and specific strategies for developmental trauma (e.g. Deep reflection, EMDR) are some of the therapeutic techniques commonly used in treatment.
Dr. Brian Scott is a Clinical Psychologist with three decades of experience in helping adults with a multitude of psychological difficulties. Dr. Scott has worked extensively with adults on emotional problems caused by lingering effects of childhood abuse, trauma, or neglect. This condition, commonly known as codependence, is sometimes now referred to as developmental trauma or Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (Complex PTSD).
Dr. Scott also help individuals cope with and recover from depression, anxiety, and other forms of stress. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), stress management, lifestyle management, and specific strategies for developmental trauma are therapeutic techniques commonly used depending on individual circumstances. Due to his focus, Dr. Scott works with adults exclusively.
Ms Chua Kah Lin is a clinical psychologist who received her professional training in the UK. She currently sees clients in private practice on a part time basis. She also works part time on the academic team in an Australian university teaching clinical psychology to postgraduate students.
Her previous clinical experience includes working in hospitals in the UK and subsequently in private practice in Singapore. She has treated both adults and children suffering with a range of emotional and psychological disorders.
Besides an interest in helping adults and adolescents who are depressed, anxious or with emotional issues that disrupt their daily functioning and relationships, Ms Chua is also keen on working with parents who are experiencing difficulties coping with and managing their children's behaviours. She works alongside parents to help them become more effective, confident and self determining.
Ms Irena Constantin is a Educational Psychologist who completed her M. Phil (lic. Phil) at the University of Zurich, Switzerland and has specialized in Applied Psychology. Ms Constantin has had extensive experience in dealing with learning and socio-emotional difficulties experienced by teenagers and young adults in school and work settings. In this regard, she has also provided school related intervention programmes. Irena is multi-lingual and provides her counselling in English, German, as well as Greek.
Her areas of experience with students and young adults include learning and performance blockages, refusal behavior in family and school, aggressive behavior, and challenging behavior such as hyperactivity. At Scott Psychological Centre for ADHD and Developmental Trauma, she will apply this extensive experience and expertise also to teenagers and young adults with ADHD or Autism Spectrum Disorders(ASD).
To ensure ethical and professional standards, Ms Constantin is a member of and adhere to standards of the FSP (Federation of Swiss Psychologists) and EAF (Education Across Frontiers).
Ms. Judy Yap is a Clinical Psychologist who received her training at James Cook University, Australia. She has worked in a community child health setting in Australia, in children and adult hospitals in Singapore, and as a private practitioner. She has worked extensively with locals as well as expatriates.
Ms. Yap's experience includes conducting neuropsychological assessments for children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly following their neurological conditions (e.g., traumatic brain injury, strokes, epilepsy, and hypoxia). She encourage the clients to utilise their strengths, suggest ways to cope with their difficulties, and provide psychosocial/emotional therapy and support to her clients. She also works with the clients' families and schools to help ensure a smoother integration process back to the home and school settings.
Ms. Lanurse Chen is a counselling psychologist who received her professional training in Australia. Over her decade long career as a psychologist in a local tertiary hospital, she has worked extensively with individuals, ranging from young adults to elderly, presented with anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, grief and loss, pain as well as adjustment issues. In addition, she provides crisis intervention for individuals or group who encounter adverse events.
She also has a keen interest in working with those presenting with mood and anxiety issues due to sudden physical illness or chronic diseases. The recovery journey of a sudden physical illness or management of chronic diseases can affect the psychological well-being of an individual.
